The Black Lives Matter Global Network Foundation (BLMGNF) has launched the Student Solidarity Fund and the HBCU Student Scholarship Fund to emphasize the importance of mutual aid in their philanthropic work. The organization recognizes that the well-being, health, and dignity of individuals are interlinked, and cooperation is necessary for survival.
The foundation has already provided $3 million directly to Black individuals, families, and small-business owners experiencing financial hardship.The BLMGNF x HBCU Ambassador Program is the second phase of the fund, initiated in partnership with Tahir Murray, to increase access and knowledge of funding opportunities for a diverse set of HBCU students. The two have partnered to lead a team of Ambassadors to assist in recruiting applicants from across the country.
Eligible applicants must be at least 18 years old and must be currently enrolled at a Historically Black College or University for an undergraduate degree.
The scholarship amount is up to $5,000, and the deadline is usually in June.
