American Airlines HBCU Completion Scholarship Program
American Airlines and The Thurgood Marshall College Fund (TMCF) have partnered to give need-based scholarships to college seniors who have already been approved to graduatein May of the current year. Students must be already attending an HBCU or PBI. Applicants must be in good academic standing, and must be able to demonstrate that they are not at risk of being disqualified as a graduate.
Three applicants will be chosen to receive a scholarship for the academic school year (scholarships will only be applied to provable costs associated with average tuition and customary fees).
To be qualified: Applicants are required to be enrolled full-time as a senior at a TMCF's member-school during the 2019-2020 academic school year, be a validated graduating senior in May of the current year and have a present-day cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher, must be skilled in exhibiting leadership abilities, be able to show a financial need, and must be a legal permanent resident or U.S. Citizen.
Applicants must also provide a copy of their 2019-2020 FAFSA Student Aid Report, and must supply an (official or unofficial) transcript from your most recent completed academic term including Fall 2019 grades and cumulative GPA.
Applicants must also upload a current resume highlighting abilities in community service and leadership and reply to three essay questions with a maximum of 500 words per question.
The award amount is $2,250, and the deadline is usually in APRIL.
