Ray Charles Endowed/ United Negro College Fund Scholarship
The foundation of Ray Charles, one of the most successful musicians of all time, has partnered with the United Negro College fund to award scholarships to deserving students who demonstrate academic excellence. His foundation specifically aims to help students who are in need, and who are college juniors enrolled at a qualifying university. The scholarships are renewable.
Applicants must be:
* Must be an African-American;
* Must be a college junior enrolled full-time at a UNCF member institution;
* Must have a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale system; and
* Must exhibit a demonstrated unmet financial need (per your college or university Office of Financial Aid).
The Ray Charles Foundation is dedicated to affording support to young African American students through education by offering assistance to educational institutions and non-profit education programs. The vision of the foundation is to instill in the youth of America that “there is no challenge too great one cannot overcome.”
The deadline to apply is usually in MARCH, and the award amount is usually up to $4,500.
