$10K Generation Google Scholarship Program For African Americans (and Other Underrepresented Students!)
The Generation Google Scholarship helps aspiring African Americans and other underrepresented students excel in science and technology. Students will be selected from an applicant pool of both undergraduates and graduates. Scholarship awards will be based on the ability that each candidate has to demonstrate diversity through leadership and intellect.
Selected applicants will be awarded $10,000 for the school year, and will also be invited to attend the Google Scholars’ summer retreat.
Applicants must:
* Must be currently enrolled at an accredited university for the 2018-19 academic year
* Intend to enroll in or accepted as a full-time student in a Bachelors, Masters or Ph.D. program at a university in the United States or Canada for the 2019-2020 academic year
* Must maintain a strong academic performance
* Must be pursuing a degree in computer engineering, computer science or a degree in a directly related technical field
* Must exemplify leadership and demonstrate a desire for enhancing the representation of underrepresented groups in computer science and technology
The program is open to qualified undergraduate and graduate university students who meet the above criteria. Students from historically underrepresented groups including Black/African American, American Indian, Filipino/Native Hawaiian/Pacific Islander or Hispanic/Latino.
The deadline for this scholarship is usually in DECEMBER, and the award amount is usually up to $10,000.
